OUR ACTIONS FOR COVID-19

All Peasley Moving & Storage Employees are instructed and expected to follow the guidelines provided by the CDC. This includes:

  • Staying home from work if ill, experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or having been exposed to someone with the virus
  • Washing hands frequently with soap or using proper hand sanitizer when soap is not available
  • Maintaining a 6’ social distance from others to the highest degree possible
  • Wearing appropriate face masks when/if requested or required

  • Regularly refreshing and reinforcing prevention guidelines among all staff members to reduce the risk of spreading infection

Peasley Moving & Storage requests the following of our customers:

  • If you have a scheduled estimate appointment or booked move, please notify us immediately if you or any members of your household have been exposed to COVID-19, tested positive for COVID-19, or are experiencing symptoms including cough, fever, or difficulty breathing. Please rest assured there is NO CHARGE to reschedule your estimate or move due to illness – we will work together to find an alternate date that works for you.
  • Please use disinfectant/cleaner to wipe down commonly touched surfaces, objects, door handles, etc. at your residence.
  • Please make a sink, hand soap, and paper towels available to your outside salesperson and moving crew for handwashing during their time within your home.
  • Please keep all windows open throughout the moving process as this allows for greater airflow and reduces the containment of germs.
  • Please maintain a social distance of 6’ or greater during both your in-person estimate appointment and while moving services are being performed.

Driver and Mover

This position serves as crew lead for transportation and delivery within the direct service area of the local branch for household goods, special products, and relocation of business entities.  Candidate must submit to a criminal background check and must be a non-drug user (drug test – including marijuana – required).

  • 26,000 GVW truck or smaller – No Household Goods experience – $14.50/hr to start, with experience up to $16.50/hr plus Tips
  • Class B CDL – No Household Goods experience – $15.00/hr to start, with experience up to $17.00/hr plus Tips
  • Class A CDL – No Household Goods experience – $16.50/hr to start, with experience up to $18.00/hr plus Tips

Driver Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive van to loading point and consult with customer on goods to be moved
  • Supervise labor and give direction regarding moving articles to van
  • Pack, wrap or otherwise protect furniture, fixtures and equipment to prevent damage, according to established standards
  • Load truck, distributing weight evenly, forming compact load, and utilizing space efficiently
  • Drive van to destination and unload cargo
  • Create happy clients through hard work and great customer service
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • With the crew, carry/dolly items between residence/facility and the vehicle/container
  • Safely stack and unstack items in the vehicle or container, and safely place the items in the destination residence or facility at the direction of the customer
  • Supervise all work of the crew
  • Review the job requirements with the crew prior to arrival
  • Complete a detailed descriptive inventory of all items to be loaded, or assure that all items delivered are checked off against the shipping inventory

The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds unassisted. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to carry and climb a ladder.
